CREATIVE SKILLS FOR PEACE

Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism via Building of sustainable Skills in vulnerable youths.

The project, “Creative Skills for Peace” seeks to develop the skills of 1000 young people who had been or are engaged in violence and violent extremist activities as a way to prevent and counter violent extremism. This project will develop marketable, entrepreneurial, leadership and peace building skills of these young people between the ages of 12- 30 year, found in detention and correction centers across five regions of Cameroon. This will go a long way break the yoke of poverty, unemployment and social exclusion which is usually the push factor for youth radicalization and extremism. In effect, they will be  imbibed with a culture of peace and transform them as ambassadors of peace, thus deradicalize and  frustrate violent extremist organization who prey on the poverty, social exclusion and low self esteem of these young people to radicalize and recruit them.

This is the pilot phase, starting with 30 kids in BIB (Borstal Institute Buea)

We invite you to tag along with us in this marvelous adventure as we seek to empower generations of talented youths into building a peaceful society.
